At the Other End of the Hill Country Flyer Line

The Hill Country Flyer steam train runs between Cedar Park and Burnet's historic square, and our showroom is about 20 to 30 minutes south of the Cedar Park end. By car, we're at 3818 Far West Boulevard, Suite 102, Austin, TX 78731, roughly 48 miles from the Burnet square and usually an hour to an hour and a quarter away.

Calvin Smith III founded the store in 1997 after training with his father, and he still works at the bench. His co-owner, designer Jackie Smith, works alongside him. See our story for the rest.

Engagement Rings, Bluebonnet Season or Any Season

Burnet County shares the title of Bluebonnet Co-Capital of Texas with Llano County, and spring around Inks Lake and Longhorn Cavern makes a hard-to-beat backdrop for a proposal. If you're aiming for the Bluebonnet Festival weekend in April, start the ring by early February.

You can begin with an Iconic Collection setting or design from scratch. Your first consultation takes about an hour; you'll compare real diamonds, choose the shape and metal, and set a budget. We make a CAD model for your approval before casting, and custom rings take six to eight weeks after that. Our custom engagement rings page shows what's possible.

Natural or Lab Grown?

We stock hand-picked natural diamonds and lab grown diamonds. Lab grown generally buys more size; natural is rarer and retains more value. Seeing them side by side under the same light usually makes the decision easy, and our GIA-trained staff will walk you through the grading as you look.

Wedding Bands

For her: plain gold, diamond and eternity bands, including curved styles made to fit against an engagement ring. For him: men's bands in gold, two-tone, textured finishes and tantalum. Give yourselves about a month before the wedding for sizing and engraving.

Repairs, Appraisals and Lifetime Care

Bring jewelry from any store and our bench jeweler can size it, fix prongs, replace accent diamonds or polish it back up. For insurance and estates, Alexandra de Marigny, a GIA Graduate Gemologist and ISA member, writes independent appraisals from an office in our showroom. Call before you come so she can make time.

Every purchase from CALVIN'S also carries our Promise. That's twelve months of warranty coverage, then cleaning, polishing, inspection and resizing at no cost for as long as you own the piece, and support with your insurance company should a center stone be lost. The complete service list is online.
