Family-Owned Austin Jeweler Since 1997

Jeweler Near Hutto & Taylor, TX

Looking for a jeweler near Hutto or Taylor? Take SH 130 south to SH 45 Toll, follow it onto MoPac, and you're at our door in about half an hour from Hutto.

CALVIN'S Fine Jewelry is run by the family that founded it in 1997, in the same Northwest Hills storefront. The founder is still on the bench, and the people across the counter carry GIA training.

Eastern Williamson County shoppers usually come for one of four things: a custom engagement ring, a side-by-side look at natural and lab grown diamonds, wedding bands, or repairs and appraisals done under our own roof.

An Easy Toll-Road Run from Hutto and Taylor

The showroom is at 3818 Far West Boulevard, Suite 102, Austin, TX 78731, a minute off MoPac. From Hutto it's about 23 miles and 30 to 40 minutes. From downtown Taylor it's about 32 miles, so plan on 45 to 55. The toll roads keep you off I-35 for nearly the whole trip.

That founder is Calvin Smith III, who picked up the craft from his father before opening CALVIN'S. These days he shares the store with Jackie Smith, his co-owner and our designer. The full background is in our story.

Engagement Rings for a Town That Keeps Growing

Hutto was the fastest-growing city in the Austin area in 2024, and a lot of the couples who come to us from Star Ranch, Carmel Creek and the newer neighborhoods off US-79 are still learning their way around Central Texas. If that's you, here's the short version of how a ring comes together with us.

Start with a setting from our Iconic Collection or ask for something fully custom. Book a consultation and you'll spend about an hour with a designer, looking at stones in person and talking through shape, metal and budget. You sign off on a CAD rendering before anything is cast, and a fully custom ring takes six to eight weeks. How it works walks through each step, and our engagement rings and custom engagement rings pages are good places to start browsing.

New in Town? Bring the Family Jewelry Too

Moving house is when a lot of people realize the heirloom ring hasn't fit in years, or that the jewelry isn't listed on the new insurance policy. Both are easy fixes here. Our bench jeweler resizes rings, tightens prongs and replaces missing accent diamonds on pieces from any jeweler, and can rework an inherited ring into something you'll actually wear.

Insurers usually want a written valuation before they'll list a piece. Alexandra de Marigny, a GIA Graduate Gemologist and member of the International Society of Appraisers, prepares those independently from an office in our store. Ring ahead to book her, and bring old receipts if you've got them. Everything else we do is on our services page.

Natural and Lab Grown Diamonds, Same Tray

We sell both natural diamonds and lab grown diamonds, and we'll set them next to each other under the same light. Lab grown usually buys a bigger or cleaner stone for the money; natural keeps more of its value and has the story of a stone the earth made. A GIA-certified associate will explain the 4Cs with the diamonds in front of you, and GIA's own guide to the 4Cs is worth a read before you come.

Wedding Bands and Gifts

Planning a wedding at One Eleven East in downtown Hutto or The Taylor Mansion? Start the wedding bands a few weeks out. We carry plain gold, diamond and eternity bands for her, curved bands that sit flush against an engagement ring, and gold, two-tone and tantalum bands for him.

For birthdays, anniversaries and the holidays, our fine jewelry covers diamond studs, pendants, bracelets and birthstone pieces, plus designer collections from Michael M, Gabriel & Co and Royal Jewelry. The gifts page sorts it by occasion.

Repairs, Sizing and the CALVIN'S Promise

Buy from us and the CALVIN'S Promise comes along: a year's warranty, then cleaning, polishing, inspection and resizing at no charge for the life of the piece, plus our help with the claim if a center stone ever falls out. Have us look your ring over every few months; a worn prong is a five-minute job, a lost diamond is not.

How to Get Here from Hutto or Taylor

From Hutto, take US-79 west to SH 130 and head south to SH 45 Toll. Follow SH 45 west to MoPac (Loop 1), then take MoPac south to the Far West Boulevard exit. From Taylor, take US-79 west through Hutto and pick up the same route. Expect tolls on SH 130, SH 45 and the stretch of MoPac north of Parmer Lane.

Want to avoid tolls entirely? Go west on US-79 into Round Rock, south on I-35, then north on US-183 (Research Boulevard) and south on MoPac to Far West. It costs nothing but crawls at rush hour. Whichever way you come, the lot outside Suite 102 is free. Map it from Hutto or Taylor, or see our location page.

What You Get for the Drive

A store run by the family that does the work. Rings designed and finished at our own bench instead of ordered from a catalog. Advice from GIA-certified staff who aren't working you toward a sale. Care that's free for as long as you own the piece, and Wells Fargo financing with approved credit.

You can read what other customers say on our reviews and testimonials page. If you're comparing jewelers around Hutto and Taylor, Jewelers of America's checklist on choosing a jeweler is a fair test to hold any of us to.
