Up US-183 from the Barbecue Capital of Texas

You've got the barbecue covered. We'll handle the ring. The showroom is at 3818 Far West Boulevard, Suite 102, Austin, TX 78731, just off MoPac. From Lockhart it's roughly 35 to 38 miles and usually 50 to 65 minutes, depending on traffic once you're in Austin.

Calvin Smith III founded the store after training under his father, and he hasn't stepped away from the bench. Jackie Smith, his co-owner, designs alongside him. Read the rest of the family story.

Engagement Rings Worth the Drive

Most of the people who make the trip from Lockhart are coming for an engagement ring. Some start from one of our Iconic Collection settings; others want something built from scratch. Either way, the first step is a one-hour design consultation where you see stones in person and settle the shape, metal and budget.

For a custom ring you'll approve a CAD rendering before anything is cast, and the finished ring is ready in six to eight weeks. Look through our custom gallery and engagement rings before you come, and see how the process works.

Heirlooms and Estate Jewelry, Made Wearable Again

A lot of the jewelry in old Texas families sits in a drawer because it doesn't fit, doesn't suit, or nobody knows what it's worth. We can help with all three. Our bench jeweler can resize a ring, rebuild worn prongs, or take the diamonds from an inherited piece and set them in a new design.

When there's an estate to settle or a piece to insure, our in-house appraiser can help. Alexandra de Marigny is a GIA Graduate Gemologist and a member of the International Society of Appraisers, and she writes independent valuations from an office at our showroom. Phone first to reserve her time, and bring whatever old paperwork the family has.

Natural or Lab Grown?

We carry both natural diamonds and lab grown diamonds. A lab grown center stone typically costs much less than a natural one of the same size; a natural stone is rarer and keeps more of its value. We'll set them side by side and let you decide with your own eyes. For background, see our diamond education page.

Wedding Bands and Anniversary Gifts

Once the ring is sorted, there are wedding bands to choose: plain gold, diamond and eternity bands for her, and gold, two-tone, textured or tantalum bands for him. Later on, anniversary bands and fine jewelry such as diamond studs and pendants make the milestones easy, and our designer collections include Michael M, Gabriel & Co and Royal Jewelry.

Repairs and the CALVIN'S Promise

Every bit of that work, from sizing and prongs to replacing accent stones and polishing, happens in our own shop, even on pieces bought elsewhere. Jewelry you buy from us also carries the CALVIN'S Promise: a first-year warranty, lifetime cleaning, polishing, inspection and sizing at no cost, and support with your insurer if a center stone is lost or damaged. More on our services page.

Why Caldwell County Customers Come to Us

Because it's still a family shop where the owners make the jewelry. Because our GIA-trained staff give honest answers. Because we build rings rather than order them, and look after what you buy for life at no charge. And because Wells Fargo financing is there for approved buyers.

Other customers tell their side on our reviews and testimonials page. Jewelers of America's guide to choosing a jeweler is a good checklist wherever you shop.
