Austin or San Antonio? Why Some Couples Head North
From New Braunfels you're roughly halfway between two big cities, so you've got options. People who choose us tend to want three things: a ring built at our bench rather than ordered in, the chance to see natural and lab grown diamonds side by side before deciding, and a family-owned store where the people who make the ring are the people you talk to.
The showroom is at 3818 Far West Boulevard, Suite 102, Austin, TX 78731. From downtown New Braunfels it's about 58 miles, usually 70 to 90 minutes. From Seguin it's about 61 miles, closer to 80 to 105 minutes.

Custom Engagement Rings for Comal County Proposals
Whether you're planning to ask on the Comal River, under the oaks at Landa Park or at a dance at Gruene Hall, the ring comes first. You can build it from one of our Iconic Collection settings or design it from scratch with us.
Book a consultation and set aside about an hour. We'll compare loose stones with you, settle the shape and metal, and agree on a budget. You approve the CAD design before we cast, and custom rings are done six to eight weeks later. Since it's a longer drive, ask us at booking which steps need you in the room. Gruene Weddings and Wedding Bands
From Gruene Estate on Rock Street to the Mosheim Mansion in Seguin, this corner of Texas does weddings well. Whichever venue you've booked, order the bands at least a month ahead so there's room for sizing and engraving. We carry plain gold, diamond and eternity women's bands, plus curved styles cut to sit against an engagement ring, and men's bands in gold, two-tone, textured finishes and tantalum.
Natural or Lab Grown: See for Yourself
Lab grown diamonds usually let a budget reach a larger stone; natural diamonds are rarer and keep more of their value. Rather than argue it in the abstract, we'll put natural and lab grown stones of similar size side by side under the same lights. Our GIA-certified staff will explain the grading reports as you go.
Appraisals, Repairs and Lifetime Care
If you're making the drive anyway, bring the pieces that need attention. Our bench handles sizing, prongs, missing accent stones and polishing for jewelry from any store. Alexandra de Marigny, a GIA Graduate Gemologist and member of the International Society of Appraisers, does independent insurance and estate appraisals from her office in our showroom; call ahead so she has time set aside.
What you buy from us is covered by the CALVIN'S Promise: a one-year warranty, plus cleaning, polishing, inspection and sizing free of charge for as long as you own the piece, and help with your insurer if a center stone is ever lost. The rest of what we do is on our services page.
The Drive Up from New Braunfels and Seguin
From New Braunfels, take I-35 north past San Marcos to Kyle and exit at Kyle Parkway / FM 1626. Follow FM 1626 north to the 45 Southwest toll road, which feeds straight onto MoPac (Loop 1) North. Stay on MoPac to the Far West Boulevard exit. From Seguin, take SH 123 north to I-35 at San Marcos and continue the same way.
To skip the toll, stay on I-35 into Austin, take Ben White Boulevard (US-290/SH 71) west and then MoPac north. Park for free right outside Suite 102. Get directions from New Braunfels or Seguin, or see our location page.

We're open 11 to 6 Wednesday through Friday and 10 to 5 on Saturday, and we're closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. For a trip this long, book ahead so a designer and the right stones are waiting. No. CALVIN'S has one location, on Far West Boulevard in Austin, about 58 miles from New Braunfels and 61 from Seguin.
That depends on what you want. If you'd like a ring made at the bench where you can talk to the maker, and to compare natural and lab grown diamonds in person, many people decide it is. If you just need a quick, simple repair, a store closer to home may be easier.
I-35 north to FM 1626 in Kyle, then the 45 Southwest toll road onto MoPac north. It avoids the slowest part of I-35 through central Austin.
