We're CALVIN'S Fine Jewelry, a family business on Far West Boulevard since 1997. Our own designs are made and finished in our workshop, and you'll be helped by GIA-certified staff who know their stones.

Fifteen Minutes Up MoPac from Westlake
The showroom is at 3818 Far West Boulevard, Suite 102, Austin, TX 78731. From West Lake Hills it's about 10 miles, and from Rollingwood about 8. Outside rush hour that's 15 to 25 minutes, close enough to drop off a repair between other errands and pick it up later in the week.
The store is Calvin Smith III's. He learned the craft from his father, opened in 1997, and still spends his days at the bench, with co-owner and designer Jackie Smith working beside him. Here's how it began.
Custom Engagement Rings, Designed With You
Most engagement rings we make are custom. You can begin from an Iconic Collection setting and change the details, or start from a sketch, a photo or a family stone. In a one-hour design consultation you'll look at diamonds in person and settle the shape, metal and budget with a designer.
Once you've approved the 3D CAD model, we cast and set the ring; custom work is ready in six to eight weeks. How it works walks through the stages, the custom gallery shows recent pieces, and custom engagement rings is a good starting page.
Anniversary Upgrades and Redesigns
Ten or twenty years in, plenty of people want a bigger center stone, a new setting for the original diamond, or a band to wear alongside the engagement ring. We do all three. Bring your ring in and we'll talk through resetting the stone, adding an anniversary band, or building something new around a stone you already love.
If you're weighing a larger stone, we'll show you natural diamonds and lab grown diamonds side by side. Lab grown buys more size for the money; natural is rarer and keeps more of its value. Our GIA-certified staff will explain the trade-offs plainly.
Appraisals for Insurance and Estates
When a piece is worth insuring on its own, the insurer will usually want a current appraisal. Alexandra de Marigny, a GIA Graduate Gemologist and ISA member, writes independent appraisals for insurance and estates from her office in our showroom. Call ahead so she can block out time, and bring any earlier appraisals or receipts.
Many people bring several pieces at once. If any need attention first, our bench jeweler can tighten prongs, replace accent diamonds or size a ring before the appraisal is written.
Fine Jewelry, Gifts and Graduations
Our fine jewelry case covers diamond studs, pendants, tennis bracelets and birthstone pieces, along with designer collections from Michael M, Gabriel & Co and Royal Jewelry. Repairs, Cleaning and the CALVIN'S Promise
Sizing, prong repair, replacing an accent diamond, cleaning and polishing all happen in our workshop, wherever you bought the piece. Getting Here from West Lake Hills or Rollingwood
From West Lake Hills, take Bee Caves Road (RM 2244) east to MoPac (Loop 1) and head north. From Rollingwood, get on MoPac north near Rollingwood Drive. Stay on MoPac to the Far West Boulevard exit, then turn in from Far West Boulevard and park for free right outside Suite 102.
